Helo from the founder's perspective

Helo was founded with a vision of making health more inclusive, more preventive and simpler in Swedish workplaces.

Good health is not one-dimensional. It looks different for everyone.

The starting point

As a health coach, Sofie saw how health was too often reduced to yoga and green smoothies — even though people need different kinds of support. She also met employers struggling to meet the differing health needs in a workplace and to work more preventively with health.

The problem

Preventive and inclusive health work is not simple without the right support. Employers today use around 7–10 different systems for health and work environment. It becomes expensive, fragmented and unnecessarily hard to work preventively and inclusively. Good health for everyone becomes an ambition rather than a reality.

That is where the vision for Helo began: smart, easy-to-use technology combined with human conversations and meetings, supporting organisations in succeeding with preventive health work.

Not to add yet another system, but to bring a genuinely new kind of solution to the market — one that truly exists for good health for everyone.

Questions & answers

You use whichever modules suit you, and can switch features on and off as the organisation grows. Whichever level you choose, the views are always kept separate for employees, managers, HR and safety representatives.

All data is handled in line with the GDPR and with Swedish work environment legislation. Access is controlled by role, so that the right person sees the right information.

We take you from chosen solution to launch in five clear steps: choose a solution, agreement, implementation, kick-off meeting and launch.

The wellness allowance (friskvårdsbidrag) is a tax-free contribution Swedish employers may give employees for exercise and wellbeing. Employees upload their receipts in the Wellness module, where the responsible person approves them. The activities themselves are bought from external partners.

Helo Hälsa works with a selected group of quality-assured partners who share our view of holistic health and whose services qualify for the allowance — but the employee's purchase always happens outside the Health Portal.

We are a new kind of occupational health service, making health at work more accessible, more digital and more preventive.

The most concrete difference is the way in. Traditionally, advice, booking, documentation and coordination all run through an appointed contact person or coordinator. With us, HR, managers and employees instead get the tools to find and book the right resource themselves, the moment the need arises. That saves time and money, leads straight to the right expertise, and builds the employer's own capacity. We are there as support when needed, and the work is always carried out by licensed and certified practitioners.

By combining medical care, strategic consultancy, leadership development, employee surveys, wellness benefits and data-driven analysis, our customers get not only less administration through a single supplier — but health and work environment that is strategic and joined up.
